See and meet difference

Meet is used when we talk about the first time we spend time with someone. Here, meet means “this is the first time we are spending time together. Thus, when you spend time with someone for the first time you usually say, “ It’s nice to meet you. It can also be used when making plans.


Examples: I met my friend’s parents for the first time yesterday. We should go over our math notes before the test.

MEET as a verb means to see someone for the very first time you are introduced to them. So, in greetings you say “Nice to meet you” when you are first introduced to someone.
