Statistics collector in postgresql

Presently, the collector can count accesses to tables and indexes in both disk-block and individual-row terms. These files are stored in the directory named by the stats_temp_directory parameter, pg_stat_tmp by default. Stats are not broken down by days or months and not displayed in a truly meaningful format.
