The Colorado company that proposes to convert the Fairchild Republic A-Thunderbolt into an air tanker announced on September that they signed an agreement to produce the until now Russian-built amphibious water-scooping Beriev Be-2in the United States. Beriev Be-2Cabin and Interior The Be-2cabin can be arranged in a passenger, item, or mixed layout (goods and passengers). The cabin interior is provided by AIM Aviation (Fliteform) Lt from Alfreton, Derbyshire from England.


Passenger and combi configurations are on the list as well. The amphibious airplane is capable of search and rescue (SAR), transportation of passengers and freight, ambulance, and maritime surveillance applications highlighting the firefighting role. It is a turboprop airplane with four engines that can be used on waves as high as six and a half feet.


This plane is sure to be serious competition for the Russian Be - 200.

It is being developed by Betair, a collaboration between Beriev and Irkutsk in central Russia where the aircraft will be built, Swiss company ILTA Trade Finance, which is providing marketing and financing support, and other partners.
