Im an atheist conservative

According to a recent Pew Forum survey, percent of conservatives are unaffiliated with any particular religion, and percent of atheists identify as conservative. It’s obvious that atheist and freethinking groups are making efforts to reach out to those not typically affiliated with the movement, but conservatives are apparently not willing to do the same which was made abundantly clear by the actions of CPAC. In fact, I’d go so far as to say conservatism is far more intellectually honest and respectful of atheism than liberalism has been.


At the end of the day, you will find atheists are a rather quiet minority on the right. In the USA, all openly atheist politicians are either Democrats or Independents. There are a few conservative non-believers, such as atheist commentator S.

The term conservative refers to an individual who holds to some collection of traditional values. These can be fiscal, legal, or social values. An atheist can certainly be a fiscal conservative who holds to traditional notions of constitutional law with regard to separation of church and state. Sometime in the next decade, the number of worldwide godless people — atheists, agnostics, and those unaffiliated with religion — is likely to break through the billion-person mark. The American Atheists were invited—and then uninvited—from the Conservative Political Action Conference. Republican Atheists is a group for those who identify as Atheist , Agnostic, Secular and others who are registered Republicans or take interest in the Republican Party.
